Dr. Wanita Mercer is the Executive Director of Horizontal San Antonio. She is also an author, speaker, and recognized thought leader in leadership and organizational development. With more than two decades of experience across education in the U.S. and China, nonprofit leadership, community engagement, and ministry, she is known for helping leaders and organizations navigate change, build resilience, and maximize their impact.

Dr. Mercer holds a Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Organizational Leadership, a M.A. in Administration in Communication Arts, and a B.A. in Fashion Management from University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. She also holds certifications in executive coaching, Master TEFL, corporate crisis management and project management.

Beyond education, Dr. Mercer has dedicated her career to community engagement and advancing leadership that is both purpose-driven and people-centered. Through her many endeavors, she challenges individuals and organizations to think differently about leadership, community transformation, and sustainable impact.
